New Affordable Japanese Airline: AirJapan Offering Cheap Flights From Japan

A new Japanese airline "AirJapan," a subsidiary of ANA, is set to debut on February 9, 2024. Aimed to be a new competitor to Zipair Tokyo Inc. (a subsidiary of Japan Airlines Co. otherwise known as JAL), AirJapan's first route will be connecting Tokyo Narita to Bangkok. Operating the Boeing 787-8 with an all-Economy cabin, AirJapan will offer a mix of full-service and low-cost airline features, with fares starting at ¥15,000 (roughly $105 USD). Notably, the airline will provide free Wi-Fi onboard, personal entertainment screens, complimentary snacks and drinks, and a dedicated business class cabin, aiming to attract inbound tourists from Southeast Asia. AirJapan's commitment to sustainability is evident, as it plans to use sustainable aviation fuel on all flights. With plans to expand to other destinations in Southeast Asia and Oceania, AirJapan is poised to become a prominent player in the region's travel market.
